Nine Charlotte Apartment Complexes Sold


cortlandCortland Partners, a real estate investment firm based in Atlanta, has acquired nine Charlotte apartment complexes totaling 3,265 units for $273.9 million. The acquisition, which closed this month, included eight properties sold by McDowell Properties, a multifamily company based in Dallas, and one sold by Laramar Group, a Chicago-based real estate investment firm.

Cortland Partners owns more than 30,000 apartment units, according to its website. A Cortland executive could not be reached for comment.

The Charlotte properties acquired were:

• Waterford Lakes (694 units) and Aspen Peak (384 units), both located at the intersection of South Boulevard and Sharon Road West.
• The Pointe (340 units) on West Tyvola Road.
• The Regency (178 units) off North Sharon Amity Road.
• The Oaks (318 units) and Hunt Club (300 units), both in north Charlotte, off W.T. Harris Boulevard and North Tryon Street, respectively.
• Sardis Place at Matthews (420 units), Steeplechase (247 units) and Village Lakes (384 units), all located off East Independence Boulevard.
