Fort Mill Apartments Planned

A Fort Mill development company plans an $8 million apartment complex as an infill project in the community’s downtown area.

Executives at Kuester Development Associates of Fort Mill say the 64-unit Greens at Fort Mill could serve as an initial project that could spread to several other Carolina downtowns.

“We think there are several markets that are big enough and rich enough for infill projects that utilize downtowns as an amenity package,” says Faison Kuester, chief executive of Kuester Cos., parent company to the development arm.

John Allen, vice president of Kuester Development, says the infill apartment projects should fit well in Carolina communities where there’s a “push for smaller downtowns to revitalize.”
