Greenville News Building on the Market

Greenville News Media Group reported Monday that it is listing its building at the corner of Broad and Main streets. The building, constructed in 1968, sits at one of downtown’s most prominent intersections, along with the Peace Center for the Performing Arts, City Hall and the Main at Broad development that houses the Courtyard by Marriott hotel.

“The ongoing transformation of our business, with increasing emphasis on digital delivery, has fundamentally altered the facility and space requirements for The Greenville News Media Group and other Gannett units based at 305 S. Main St.,” President and Publisher Steve Brandt said in an article posted at the Greenville News website Monday.

“The news, advertising, marketing and accounting staffs of The Greenville News Media Group along with the staff of other Gannett units in Greenville could move locally or lease back space in 305 S. Main St. building,” Brandt said. The Gannett Publishing System’s printing and distribution facility located on Falls Street behind the News’ offices is not for sale, the article said.
