Marriott at Renaissance Park Deal Likely To Get Final OK from Spartanburg City Council

Spartanburg City Council will tackle a lengthy agenda this afternoon during its last meeting of the year.

Council likely will give final approval to an ordinance that will solidify agreements between the city and a group that intends to purchase the Marriott at Renaissance Park by the end of the year. Council meets at 5:30 p.m. at council chambers in City Hall.

A partnership led by Spartanburg businessman and philanthropist Jimmy Gibbs and Greenville-based Southern Hospitality Group president Andrew Cajka is negotiating with Bridgeview Capital Solutions — the original lender — to buy the hotel.
