Charleston Hotel Market Continues Spring Rebound In May

For the third straight month, average hotel occupancy rates and total room sales in Charleston County are up compared to last year.

For the second month in a row, those indicators of tourism activity are up by double digits.

May’s average hotel occupancy rate was nearly 77%, an increase of 11% from 2009, according to a monthly report from the College of Charleston’s Office of Tourism Analysis, prepared for the Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
