Lawyers Tout Observation Tower-Topped Building To Watch 787 Dreamliners Take Off

The sky’s the limit for the first round of developers hoping to capture Boeing-related business.

Two Mount Pleasant lawyers, for example, are floating the idea of building a 10-story office complex on Montague Avenue, complete with an observation tower to watch the 787 Dreamliner take off and land.

The $30 million project is being marketed toward Boeing suppliers who will need to set up shop in the Charleston area to support the Dreamliner final assembly plant, scheduled to open in mid-2011. And one local expert expects industrial developers to follow suit, tweaking their warehouse plans toward aviation manufacturers.
