Tax Cap May Cost Greenville County Schools $1.8 Million

School boards and local governments across the state are gearing up to do battle with Realtors and lawmakers over a move to put a cap on property tax increases that can be levied when property changes hands.

At stake is $44 million for cities, counties and school districts in the first year, including nearly $1.8 million for Greenville County Schools and up to $4 million for Greenville County.
