Charleston Hotels Averaged 61% Occupancy in September Down From About 64%

Charleston County hotels averaged 61% occupancy during September.

That was down from about 64% occupancy in September 2008 and 73% the year before, according to data from the College of Charleston’s Office of Tourism Analysis.

Charleston-area hotels, on average, have seen year-over-year occupancy rates drop every month of 2009, after 12 straight months of declining numbers in 2008.
