Independently Owned Myrtle Beach Area Hotels Are a Hit among Tourists

Tourists’ interest in staying in independently owned hotels has jumped in the past year, according to a national study, which could mean a slight increase in business for the independently owned lodging properties that dominate the Grand Strand, officials said.

Twenty percent of American leisure travelers preferred to stay in independent lodging facilities this year, up from 16 percent in 2008, according to a report by the Ypartnership/Yankelovich 2009 National Travel Monitor.
