Deal Reached on Bluff Road Land’s Future

Richland County and the S.C. Department of Agriculture have reached a settlement on 146 acres of land on Bluff Road in Columbia once slated for a new State Farmers Market.

Under the settlement announced Friday, the state agreed to deed about 110 acres to the South Carolina Research Authority, a private, nonprofit economic-development agency established by the General Assembly more than two decades ago.

The remaining 36 acres will be deeded to Richland County.
