Charleston Hotels Averaged 72% Occupancy in July

Hotel occupancy in Charleston County averaged 72% in July, down slightly from last year’s 75% in July.

Total hotel room nights sold in July dropped about 5% from July 2008, according to monthly data from the College of Charleston’s Office of Tourism Analysis.

Hotels in the county sold a combined 340,966 room nights in July, down from 357,310 in the same month last year. July 2008 room night sales were down about 3% from the prior year.
