26 Acres on Wade Hampton Could Go Commercial

County residents get their first look tonight at the reasons behind a developer’s request for commercial zoning on a major, 26-acre site along a burgeoning Taylors section of Wade Hampton Boulevard.

A planned development near Woodruff and Batesville roads – a sensitive area for citizen groups concerned about growth – is also up for public comment.

The Wade Hampton property, currently zoned for residential use, sits across from the Taylors Post Office close to the intersection with St. Mark Road, where a $30 million retail project got the approval of County Council earlier this year.
