Charleston Housing Figures Up For Third Straight Month

By
– Charleston Regional Business Journal

Residential real estate sales figures in the Charleston area have increased for the second consecutive month, with total sales up 8% and median sale price up 3%.

The Charleston Trident Association of Realtors reports that 732 transactions closed in June, up from 678 in May. The median sale price was $192,626, up from $187,000 in May.

“Sales typically peak during the summer months, so an increase isn’t unusual; but sales are certainly being supported by sellers pricing their homes to align with market expectations, as well as an influx of homebuyers utilizing the $8,000 tax credit,” said Gettys Glaze, president of the Realtors association’s Multiple Listing Service.
