Charleston Hotels Were 71.2% Full In May, Down 11% from Last Year

Hotel occupancy in Charleston County averaged 71.2% in May, down 11.7% from the same month in 2008, according to a monthly report from the College of Charleston’s Office of Tourism Analysis.

Last year, hotels were 80.6% full during May, on average. Total demand for hotel rooms dropped 9.8% from 373,990 room nights sold in May 2008.
