Mauldin Says No To Rezoning For Apartments

City Council voted unanimously Monday to deny an Atlanta developer’s request to rezone land at 216 and 218 E. Butler Road to build an income-qualified senior housing complex.

The council moved the item to the top of its agenda and barely discussed it before making its decision before a full room of residents applauded and thanked the council for its vote.
Kevin Buckner sought to rezone 4.2 acres to planned development for a 72-unit apartment complex restricted to low-to-moderate income adults aged 55 and older.
