Housing Market Looks Hopeful, But Professionals Won’t Call End Of Slump Yet

Incentives, record low interest rates and an $8,000 first-time home buyer tax credit are helping spark more traffic in the Grand Strand real estate market, local real estate and banking professionals said Tuesday.

Some say they already are seeing more potential buyers checking out property for sale as the spring buying season gears up.

About 10 housing industry professionals talked about those and other influences on the local real estate market during a public round table discussion Tuesday at The Preserve at Green Lakes development in Myrtle Beach.
