A proposed shopping center featuring a Harris Teeter in western Bluffton is back on track after the town’s Planning Commission approved a revision that would make the center more pedestrian-friendly.

The center, called Buckwalter Commons and planned for the intersection of U.S. 278 and Hampton Parkway, would now have a fountain and walkways that bisect a courtyard. The courtyard will be in the middle of the main parking lot.

“It was sort of a compromise, but it was in an effort to keep Harris Teeter on board,” said Josh Tiller, commission chairman.
