Foreclosure Numbers Hold Steady In S.C.

Month-to-month foreclosure numbers reached a plateau in South Carolina for the first two months of 2009.

In January, the state posted 2,463 homes in some state of foreclosure, according to data from national real estate tracking firm RealtyTrac. In numbers released this morning, RealtyTrac data showed 2,473 homes in foreclosure during February, which ticks up the numbers by less than one-half of 1%.

Half of the 46 counties in South Carolina had fewer than 10 foreclosures for the month, and nine counties posted no foreclosures whatsoever for February.

Across the country, foreclosure numbers jumped 6% from January to February.
