Developer gets OK for 5 buildings, says project to go ‘a piece at a time’

It’s been nearly two years since Florida developer Menin Development Inc. bought the former Greenville Mall property with plans to cover it with high-end shopping, office space and a hotel or two.

So far, however, the only work Menin has initiated at the high-profile site between Woodruff Road and Interstate 385 is a continuation of some demolition begun by the previous owner.

And now the economy is stuck in a recession, with credit scarce and retailers suffering. Will Menin ever make good on its original plan for a huge, mixed-use development called Magnolia Park Town Center?
