Brokers, Developers Optimistic About Future of Beaufort Shopping Centers

Occupancy rates at three of the newer shopping centers in northern Beaufort County are lower than the national average, but local developers and real estate brokers are optimistic their properties will outlast the recession.

The difficult economy has slowed — but hasn’t stopped — retailers looking to set up shop in Beaufort County, said Dean Morrissey, managing partner with Millennium Real Estate Group and broker-in-charge at Port Royal Center, located at the intersection of Paris Avenue and Ribaut Road.
