$30 Million Wade Hampton Project Gets County’s OK

A $30 million retail project at Wade Hampton Boulevard and St. Mark Road got unanimous approval Tuesday from Greenville County Council, all but opening the door to what proponents say are more retailers and hundreds of jobs in the corridor.

Developer Neil Wilson has said he intends to build the project on both sides of Wade Hampton while restoring the historic Chick Springs site, and that he would seek annexation into Greer if the county doesn’t approve his rezoning requests. The new commercial zoning requires one more vote by council.
