Fountain Inn Planners Vote To OK Project

Development comes before City Council today

Despite protests by homeowners, the planning commission sided with developers after a short discussion, setting up a first vote on the request at 6 p.m. today by the Fountain Inn City Council.

A development group that owns the Carolina Springs Golf Club and surrounding land has proposed building Eagle Springs. The traditional neighborhood development would consist of houses and townhomes and would include a town center with 100,000 square feet of retail space, a revamped 18-hole golf course to replace the existing 27-hole course and a golf training academy that city officials hope will boost tourism.
