The owners of Macalloy Industrial Park on Shipyard Creek in North Charleston are looking for short-term tenants to lease the property until the port terminal on the former Navy base is completed.

The property is ideal for trucking companies or as a laydown yard for construction materials, said Stuart Coleman, a broker with Clement, Crawford & Thornhill Inc.

The real estate firm is handling the leasing of the 84-acre property on behalf of Shipyard Creek Associates LLC, a conglomerate comprising Branch Properties of Atlanta; Lubert-Alder, a Pennsylvania-based real estate investment fund; Stanley Ashley of Atlanta; and Charleston developer Robert Clement.

“Long term, there are a number of different options they are looking at, but they are all port-related,” Coleman said. “One of those options is a rail yard, but there are others that involve warehousing and distribution facilities, and some that utilize the waterfront, because it is on Shipyard Creek, for more traditional shipping.”
