Atlanta-based Holder Properties is poised to begin marketing apartments in its Aspyre development at Assembly and Whaley streets in Columbia. The parking building for the complex is under construction.

Chairman and CEO John Holder said he’s a couple of weeks ahead of schedule on the construction and expects to open the first phase June 1.

“We’re preparing our marketing program, and we have a Web site going up. We are fully engaged and want to see if we can get some leases signed,” Holder said.

He expects to have a marketing office to open at the site next week.

“We’ll pick up some of the student market, and hope to get some of the young professionals who want to live in the area,” Holder said.

Holder also built Adesso, a 110-unit condominium complex at Main and Blossom Streets; the Meridian building, home of the Nelson Mullions Law Firm on Main Street; and is developing a 19-story office tower at Main and Gervais.
