U.S. Census figures released today that show growth across the Upstate are no surprise to Kent Dykes, president of the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber, at the crux of three of the state’s fastest-growing counties, gets several relocation inquiries daily, he said.

Greenville County grew by 2.8 percent between 2006 and 2007, reaching a population of 428,243, and was the state’s fifth-fastest growing county, with Spartanburg, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee counties all in the top 16.

Greenville County remains the most populated county in the state.
