New home construction scheduled for Carolina Park

By Daily Journal Staff

The first home builders have been announced for Carolina Park, a 1,708-acre planned community under development near U.S. Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant.

Advanced Builders, Allen Custom Homes, Nielsen Construction and South Atlantic Construction have all made commitments to the Carolina Park partners and will begin construction this summer.

Carolina Park already is home to Wando High School and The Children’s Center at Carolina Park, an early childhood education center for children ages 1 through 5. The community in May also held groundbreaking for the new Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital.

Carolina Park’s master plan includes 1,750 residential units in neighborhoods with park space, wildlife corridors and biking and walking trails. The community is being developed by Carolina Park Associates and will include retail and office space as well as residential amenities.
