Developers look for rezoning

May 31, 2008

The owners of two tracts totaling 477 acres in Carolina Forest want to build shops in addition to residential units on the undeveloped parcels near The Farm subdivision, according to a rezoning request submitted to Horry County.

Apartments are already permitted to be built on the land, but changing the zoning to allow shops would require a hearing before the county’s planning commission and then approval by Horry County Council.

The planning commission will discuss the request at its June 5 meeting at 5:30 p.m.
