Miller-Valentine to Build VA Offices in Columbia

Miller-Valentine Group announced Thursday it broke ground on a regional office for the Veterans Benefits Administration Regional Office in Columbia, S.C.

Dayton-based Miller-Valentine has partnered with Columbia, S.C.-based Keenan Development, the developer and owner of the building, to provide design/build construction services for the 116,000-square-foot, class A office building.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The office building is being constructed on 10 acres of land across from the Dorn VA Hospital campus.

The new facility is expected to house more than 500 employees from its two tenants, Veterans Benefits Administration and Veterans Healthcare Administration. Both groups provide assistance to veterans and their families.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in May 2009.

Miller-Valentine officials could not be reached for comment.

Miller-Valentine has several divisions including commercial and residential construction, property leasing and property management. It is the Dayton area’s largest commercial real estate firm, with 28 commercial Realtors.
