Riverwest Properties LLC has the county’s permission to increase the commercial space it plans for a former Westside golf course.

The Greenville County Council has given Riverwest final approval to rezone an additional seven acres for a mixed-use development planned on the site of the old Millstone Golf Course on U.S. 123.

The seven acres had a service one zoning classification.

In a request to the county planning and zoning departments, Frank Bridwell of Riverwest said rezoning the seven acres would increase the permittable commercial space by 58,570 square feet, to 103,570 square feet.

Riverwest anticipates a bank, grocery store, pharmacy, dry cleaners, coffee shop, food establishments, fitness center, retail shops, gift/card shop, beauty/barber shop, and other uses “with a high profile mixed-use and commercial town center style complex.”

The developers were granted their request to rezone the 241-acre golf course for a mixed-use development in summer 2007.

The development plans include up to 2,136 residential units.
