Yet another developer is joining the race to build warehouse space close to the Port of Charleston.

Mark Antman of Charleston-based real estate company Kennerty Ratner & Tezza LLC and business partner David Gray of GPA Surveying have begun constructing an office/warehouse complex to be called Cypress Business Park on Old Summerville Road in Dorchester County.

The first phase of the project, located one mile from Carnes Crossroads, will include 13,200 square feet of space divisible into 1,200-square-foot increments.

“We think this area is prime for small business growth, and we aim to be part of the success that hard-working entrepreneurs will be realizing in this community,” Antman said. “It’s good for families, and it’s good for the area’s economy.”

Jafza International, Hillwood Properties and the Rockefeller Group, among others, also have regional logistics and warehouse parks in the works.
